Streaming Defenses - Week 7

Bob is rolling with his weekly sage advice on which defenses to stream, so read on!

Welcome to Week 7 streams. We had some mixed results last week. I warned you about the Rams but missed on PIT. Boy, are the Steelers terrible? And they were owned in 82% leagues, that had to hurt. Average for highly owned only eked out 8 pts overall, pulled down by a lagging CAR defense. They drop to a stream option in the future. Missed on OAK stream as I cautioned. I’ll not be picking them again. And I missed on dissing KC, but still don’t believe in them yet.

Now on to this week. There are some juicy starts on the stream side and some cautions on the highly owned.

Week 7 Highly Owned
DEN
HOU

HOU has a way of giving up points to good defs, so start DEN with confidence.
ARI
SEA

SEA has yet to meet a good def. Well that changes this week and I predict ARI has a big week, start 'em.
NEP
@PIT

12
PIT has left the building with Big Ben out, this will be nasty for AB and PIT, start the Pats with confidence.
MIN
@PHI

You have to start the Vikings even against a stingy PHI. Wentz will struggle again and MIN will put up big points…again.
SEA
@ARI
96%
10
Did you know ARI has surrendered 25 and 16 pts to the Bills and Rams respectively? They will give up big pts to SEA, start 'em with confidence.
BUF
@MIA
88%
12
MIA is averaging 11.5 pts/game to defs, and BUF can tear you apart. Start the Bills big.
PHI
MIN

Beware this start, MIN does not turn it over, and protects their QB. MIN is only averaging 5.8 pts to Defs, PHI is a good DEF but temper your expectations.
LAR
NYG

The Giants seem to give up avg points to everyone they play. If you're happy with 8 points, start the Rams.
PIT
NEP

Again, PIT is highly owned and I don't get it. People they suck on DEF! They had 0, Zero points last week against a top 10 target. Start at your own peril.

HOU

Broncos are struggling, and have given up 13 points in last 2 games to so-so Defs. I see HOU taking a bite out of them as a good defense. Best stream of the week.
TEN
IND
60%
10
Titans are trending up and the Colts are trending down. IND is a bonafide target now, so start TEN as 2nd best stream.
CIN
CLE
47%
9
CLE is still a juicy target surrendering over 10 pts a game. Playing in Cincy, the Bengals will put DEF points on the board. Third best stream.
BAL
@NYJ

I like the road dog this week. The Jets can give up big points and BAL is a capable Def. Start as 4th best stream.
GB
CHI

And if you don't have any other options, give the Packers a shot. Chi can be had on defense and GB is getting better and better. 5th overall stream.

As always, good luck and keep streaming.

Straight up, gut feeling, Minnesota or Buffalo? Buffalo seems the better matchup, but the Dolphins seem to play them better than expected.

As always, thanks again.

Dolphins always play better at home and Eagles offense has been struggling. Minnesota seems the better option. Then again I'm going with Tennessee.

Labor Day FF links

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff. Check out the info on the FSTA site for more details and be sure to e-mail me your submissions. Now, onto Week 1! First up, let's get to some of this

2010 Week 2 consensus start/sit

Greetings and happy weekend. I've got this week's consensus start/sit for you which is a tally of all the start/sit votes that players received in the various start/sit articles that I linked to earlier in the week. So while these aren't my personal recommendations, I do think knowing what the consensus is could be of help when making lineup decisions...so enjoy! Note: the players are listed in no particular order. QB Start: Michael Vick, Kyle Orton, Matt Ryan, Jason Campbell Sit: David Garrard, Alex Smith, Jay Cutler, Vince Young, Carson Palmer RB Start: LeSean McCoy, Darren McFadden, Ahmad Bradshaw, Brandon Jackson Sit: Tim Hightower, C.J. Start/Sit Week 4 and a smattering of rankings

It's been awhile, my fantasy football friends. I have lofty intentions of getting several posts up here each week, but life is busy and I will do my best. So in the intervening 6 years since I've posted regularly on here, our family added another child (now there are 3!), moved back to Boulder for a sabbatical year and then returned to Knoxville, and we have basically been chugging along like many of the rest of you. My two boys (who turn 12 and 9 soon) are in a fantasy football league for the first time this year with their buddies, which ostensibly is the just the dads (and mom!) playing one another of course. But my oldest is taking it super seriously and what kind of Fantasy Football Librarian would I be if I didn't step up my game for him? So I'm back - and am interested in the fantasy landscape - lots of the same awesome sites out there, but many new ones as well. I'll try to incorporate a mix. Please be sure to let me know if my 2006 ways aren't working i
