Okay, stay with me here readers...I'm coming at you fast and furious with a bunch of links thrown up with very little commentary. I've got a sleeping baby on the verge of waking up and an auction draft + a dynasty draft tonight to prep for. Chaos, friend, chaos. There is something alive in our fireplace. We've had a big moving box pressed up against the fireplace ever since we moved in a few weeks ago and discovered that one of our cats could easily jump up in the fireplace and half-disappear. So we've got the moving box all set up as a classy but effective baby and cat gate...and apparently a critter gate now, too, since there's been something fluttering or scratching around in there for a few hours. Being the uber girly girl that I am when it comes to bugs, vermin, or anything else that could appear in our fireplace, I have left whatever is in there to just stay there until my backup (my husband) comes home. Fingers crossed that the possible racket that's about to ensue as we unveil the fireplace critter won't wake our sleeping baby (nothing is more precious in our household than a sleeping baby...except maybe a critter-free fireplace). So that's the kind of fun taking place at the FFLibrarian household tonight. Hop...

I know, I know, I promised daily posts once the lockout was over...and here I am letting days (eons really) go by before posting again. My apologies, fantasy football friends, but we are finally on the road with our big move from Brooklyn to Knoxville and the past few days have been full of packing, movers, and driving - all with a decidedly poor quantity of internet access. But we hopped in a car last night and brought our son and 2 cats as far as my family's home just outside Washington, D.C., where we'll take a breather for a bit as our furniture slowly rumbles on down to Tennessee. It's a crazy week to be relying solely on my iphone for NFL news at times, but now it's time for a big ol' recap of this week's events. One common question in our household over the past week or so: why didn't the DVR grab this week's Sports Show with Norm MacDonald? Gregg Rosenthal of Rotoworld/Pro Football Talk fame answered this for us in a recent tweet , noting that the show has been cancelled (invoking sad Bill Cosby now...), and I must say I'm sad to see it go. I didn't really envision myself looking forward to it each week as much as I did, but I'm not gonna lie, there were some really funny nuggets in there. I was on the train on my way home from some time spent in Boston to see my sister's new home, and was pleasantly surprised to find a close friend on the train a few rows ahead of me. What a small world. I love random happenstance like that...and there's always a taste of this sort of happy circumstance with fantasy drafts. You can go into drafts as prepared as can be, but there's likely to be some moment where one of your favorite sleepers has landed in your lap at exactly the right value point. And on the flip side, you should be prepared for your fantasy nemesis to snag all your picks right before you...repeatedly. So I highly recommend you mock, mock, mock as your draft day approaches to see upside in players you might not have originally considered. It's hard to believe July is almost here but you all know what that means? The unofficial increase of fantasy content as the NFL season gets closer and closer. Training camps start in July so if that doesn't get you excited then I don't know what will. July also means moving time for me - my husband and I found a new apartment to accommodate our growing family and are moving on July 17th...a mere 2.5 weeks away. But is anything packed yet? Of course not. And does that make me anxious? Of course! It's an assault on all of my natural instincts to plan, but I figure it's good for me. Well I'm back from a fantastic weekend visiting friends in Colorado and have a few different things going on that I wanted to let you all know about. In a few weeks I'll be attending the Fantasy Sports Trade Association's spring conference in Chicago and I'm going to be a tweeter and blogger for the event. In an effort to be a bit more hip to the scene in my nabe (that's NY-speak for neighborhood; used anywhere else? Am I just that out of it?), my husband and I took to the streets last night to find some fun sports bars in our neighborhood. Turns out this city loves baseball. In one bar all 7 screens were turned to baseball (including two different views of the CHW v BOS game) and we had to ask for one to show the football game on Fox. In the other bar, the football game was indeed on, but the 14 other screens all showed baseball - or horse racing. I realize it's still the preseason so I won't give up on these places yet but I was surprised. I guarantee sports bars in Boulder would have had way more football going on...am I going to be a football girl in a baseball town?! I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but I'm in heaven right now - we finally have wireless (and cable) and my life has just taken a serious turn for the better. Tonight I think I'm headed to my second Rockies game of the season - off to see them take on the TB Rays with some friends who are in town. This is assuming that Denver avoids basically an 8 th day in a row of extreme weather (tornado, hail, the works). This coming weekend I'm heading to NYC for a good friend's wedding and then to apartment shop since we're moving to New York in August. Last week many of you participated in the first FFLibrarian contest and we have not just one but two winners...oh yeah, you weren't expecting that were you? First, we have the grand overall winner: Christian "Ghosty" Pedersen of Tucson, AZ submitted the best guess for running back with the most yards (and number of yards) for preseason week 3 - Ghosty's guess was DeAngelo Williams with 115 yards; Williams finished the night at the top with 101 rushing yards. Congrats Ghosty, you've got a one-year subscription to FFXtreme to lord over your friends and foes! However, another FFLibrarian reader submitted a guess of Rashard Mendenhall with 78 yards; Mendenhall had 79 rushing yards so I feel like this reader's precision needs to be rewarded as well. As I think every FFLibrarian regular might notice, I've played around with the colors and layout on the blog. After hearing a few comments from all of you, I decided that perhaps the dark background and light text just wasn't doing it for most of you. I filled in at the last minute for a mock draft last Thursday night with the FFToday staff - it ended up being only an okay draft for me, but it was excellent prep for 2008. And though my team/draft got no love at all from the FFToday guys (as evidenced in the votes for best draft on this Team by Team Recap ), I still enjoyed getting a chance to draft with real live people this early in the season. Check out the Round by Round recap of the mock draft - it was a 10-team, serpentine draft with 16 rounds to field a 1 QB/ 2 RB/ 3 WR/ 1 TE/ 1 K/ 1 DEF lineup and the scoring system is noted on the recap page.
