Fantasy Football Librarian

So as many of you know, I've been running the FFLibrarian Monster League for several years now - it's a 72-team, 6-conference league full of fellow FFL readers. Each conference has their own draft and own pool of players and this year I actually have 18 spots open. If you're interested in playing in the monster league and are ready and willing to be competitive for the full season, please send me an e-mail with your team name and e-mail address. In order to give the west coast a fair shake here I'll be taking the first 9 people I hear from after this is posted (update: these first 9 spots are taken) and then the first 9 e-mails I get as of 5:00 PM eastern/2:00 PM pacific (second update: all spots are taken but I'm creating a wait list). For the past several years I've been running a Monster FFLibrarian League with readers competing against each other in a 6-conference, 72-team league. I've had several questions about whether or not that will be happening again this year and yes, my monster league-lovers, it will. Later today I will send out an e-mail to all of last year's participants to see if you're interested in playing again. You will have until Friday night to let me know if you'd like to play again this year and on Saturday I will open the league up to any newcomers. As with last year, 1 of the 6 conferences will be done in e-mail style (the rest will be live online drafts), hopefully starting next Monday, August 15th. I will also be asking for 6 conference leaders again - if you played in the league last year and are willing to be a conference leader to help with the draft and any questions that come up during the season, please e-mail me ASAP. As many of you know, last year I started the FFLibrarian monster league hosted by MyFantasyLeague.com and had 96 readers participate in one huge league (divided into 6 conferences of 16 teams) - last year's winner was Andrew, manager of the American Atheists squad. MFL.com has generously offered to host us again but this year the size of the league is going to be limited to 72 teams to make things a bit more reasonable and fun for participants; we'll still have 6 conferences, but each conference will only have 12 teams. Four months from today is the due date for my FFL Junior and while I'll spare you all the details of my increasing fascination with this whole something-alive-is-growing-inside-of-me process, I will say that I'm startled by just how quickly we've reached the end of May. This holds true when we talk about the 2010 football season, too. Before you know it, fantasy football draft magazines will be hitting the stands at your favorite bookstore and our talk of starters and superstars will be more than just mere speculation. I'm in the process of narrowing down the number of leagues that I'll play in this year since I imagine I might have less time this year to devote to FF team management what with a whole new tiny person in my life, but one thing that I plan on maintaining is the monster FFLibrarian League . There are big, fluffy flakes coming down outside my window right now and I'm thinking about the mayhem that will be taking place just a few miles away at Times Square tonight. We thought about joining in on the New Year's Eve madness but I think we're just going to have a few friends over for dinner and drinks instead. Well my husband is off at a conference and my sister is froufing around in Cali for a wedding - that means the quantity of friends I have in the city has just been reduced by about 50% - which frankly benefits you all since I'm hanging out writing another post tonight. I know, I need to get more friends. Funny how hard making friends can be when you work from home on fantasy football and basically hang out with cats all day (they're adorable cats, but still, they don't talk back)...all kidding aside though, it's kind of nice to have a quiet weekend after we had so many folks in town for the marathon last weekend. Anyone up for the monster FFLibrarian league ? It's a bit of a crazy scene with 96 teams and a commish (me!) who really is still figuring all the settings out, but I need a new owner. You'd be taking over the Silentninja team , which is full of QBs and Kickers - can we say trade? Might be a bit of an uphill battle but I know someone out there can do it. You guys are impressive - in the 24 hours since I posted the info about this season's FFLibrarian league I've signed up 45 of you. Amazing - thank you for the interest! Right now I have the league set at 48 but we can get much bigger. For those of you who are wondering how this will work, it will be divided into multiple conferences which will each have their own draft and weekly head-to-head competitions . Oh yeah, you read that post title correctly: the FFLibrarian League has arrived. I have already sent out an invitation with the league details to a handful of people that e-mailed me about joining in on the league fun, but there's still plenty of room. So if you are interested, e-mail me and I'll send you an invitation. I set it up for a live draft but am wondering if you guys have thoughts on this - would you all prefer a live draft (at the end of August) or an e-mail draft (could take a few weeks so we would need to start in early August)? Whatever the majority prefers will be our draft method. In the meantime, my mock draft slowly rolls on and I really appreciate all the comments I've heard from you guys so far on the mock.
