Waiver wire links for Week 7

So that vacation we took last week to Colorado? Yeah, I'm not changing time zones again with a 3-year-old unless it is a national emergency, a family-mandated event, or I suddenly decide that waking at 4:30 every morning is a weird kind of fun. Our little man just never rolled with the punches and let me tell you, waking early is one thing, but dealing with a pissed off, sleep-deprived, 3-yo dictator in the evening hours is no fun. BUT the early wakeups meant we got to watch sunrise from a mountain top (awesome, no?) and tasted many chocolate chip pancakes in the wee hours. There were snowballs, elk viewings, good friends, card games, putt putt, and of course puke (because why wouldn't there be puke? it's a vacation, someone had to hurl). Good times were had amidst the madness so it's all worth it. And now we're back to the grind and I'm staring at Jay Ajayi's stats languishing on my bench. Let's get to the waiver wire options:

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. This has been an almost surreal and definitely heartbreaking experience and I appreciate the support in each and every one of your notes. Caroline will be honored and loved always. Labor Day FF links

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff. 2014 Average Position Rankings spreadsheet

Friends, I've got a first draft of the 2014 Average Position Rankings spreadsheet up here as a google doc. If you're new to this annual spreadsheet or need a refresher, here's the scoop. I take the top 200 or so overall rankings that are freely offered by a handful of sites and I average out their rankings for each player. I also take the standard deviation to see how a player's rankings differ among experts, and add that in as another component to give you a sense of how much consensus there is on a player. I drew from the following sites this year: FFToolbox, CBSSports.com (both Jamey and Dave), ESPN, FFCalc's ADP, The Fake Football, The Football Girl, NFL.com, DavidGonos.com, SI, Yahoo, FantasyPros.com, and RealTime Fantasy Sports. All offered roughly a top 200 overall ranking and you can see each site's ranking (gathered 8/20/14) in the second tab on the spreadsheet.
