Waiver Wire Time for Week 10

I simply can't believe how quickly the fantasy football season is flying by. Soon it will be March and I'll be morosely looking at the calendar wishing away the next 5 months. But let's focus instead on all the great free agents pickups you can get this week. Or may be forced to get if your QB got injured this past weekend (oh Cutler...) or you're a Brady owner (hopefully you planned for this...).
  • FF Geek Blog - truly a favorite site of mine. Check out their Waiver Wire Pickups, Keeper Sleepers and Spot Starts: Week 10 article.
  • The Sports Outlaw continues his plug for Chris Henry (WR) in this week's Weekly Wiver Wire - Week 10 suggestions.
  • The Hazean's Grab Bag: Week 10 is up with some waiver suggestions and ready for your questions. I have not found anyone nearly as good/timely as The Hazean at answering your lineup questions...so go ahead and ask away. You'll have an answer before you know it.
  • NFL.com's Risers & Fallers: Brees, Fargas on the rise has encouraged me to give Maurice Morris a good, long look.
  • Try NFL Freaks' Hot Waiver Wire Picks for reasons to stick with Ryan Grant.
  • FF Toolbox has a nice multi-page selection of free agents in their Week 10: Pickups of the Week article.
  • Try Fanball's pickup of the week and drop of the week suggestions.
  • Rotoworld has provided me with some Brady chuckles this morning as well as some helpful insight in their Waiver Wired: Watch Out Models! article. In one league, I am playing against the guy who has Brady this coming week and his only other QB option at the moment is David Carr. I couldn't help but let a wicked laugh escape when I noticed that. What luck for me...

Some guys I'd consider:

QB: JP Losman, Kellen Clemens, Jay Cutler

RB: Priest Holmes, Maurice Morris (Alexander hurt AND playing poorly), Kolby Smith (don't know if Holmes has anything left), Justin Fargas (if he's somehow available but if not, consider Michael Bush (may get some starts late in season for Oakland)

WR: lots here - David Patten (and by corollary, Terrance Copper - I'm buying big into Saints' resurgence), Chris Henry (activated), D.J. Hackett (will keep starting role opposite Branch), Javon Walker (might have been dropped)

i'm worried about my WR situation. i have donald driver, dwayne bowe, shaun mcdonald and donte' stallworth. driver and bowe have not been doing well. in fact bowe did zilch for me. mcdonald is iffy. two weeks ago, he sucked. this past week, he put up points. and of course the pats are on the bye. most of the recommended folk have been snapped up.

what's a girl to do??

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. This has been an almost surreal and definitely heartbreaking experience and I appreciate the support in each and every one of your notes. Caroline will be honored and loved always. Labor Day FF links

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff.
