Start or Sit Links for Week 16

Last day of work before my holiday vacation begins! And both an NFL game and a bowl game tonight?! Great day ahead.

So yesterday I got up a few start/sit links and I have several more for today. I normally post my consensus start or sit list on Fridays but since I'll be traveling back to my family in the D.C. burbs for much of the day, I don't think I'll be able to get it up until Saturday. The IDP post will also be postponed until Saturday. I know a lot of you are nervous about your lineup decisions this week but patience, please, my football friends.
I'll likely be on chat this afternoon if you need a second opinion or lineup sounding board.

Chris - I'd go with Brees at QB since he's been looking really good recently and Anderson could be throwing in the snow again (40% chance) - we all saw how poorly that worked out for him last week. For WR, go with Galloway and McDonald. Tough choice between Patten and McDonald, but I think based on matchups, I'd roll with McDonald.

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. Labor Day FF links

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff. 2014 Average Position Rankings spreadsheet

Friends, I've got a first draft of the 2014 Average Position Rankings spreadsheet up here as a google doc. If you're new to this annual spreadsheet or need a refresher, here's the scoop. I take the top 200 or so overall rankings that are freely offered by a handful of sites and I average out their rankings for each player. I also take the standard deviation to see how a player's rankings differ among experts, and add that in as another component to give you a sense of how much consensus there is on a player. I drew from the following sites this year: FFToolbox, CBSSports.com (both Jamey and Dave), ESPN, FFCalc's ADP, The Fake Football, The Football Girl, NFL.com, DavidGonos.com, SI, Yahoo, FantasyPros.com, and RealTime Fantasy Sports. All offered roughly a top 200 overall ranking and you can see each site's ranking (gathered 8/20/14) in the second tab on the spreadsheet.
