Quick morning recap

Gotta be quick this morning - that interview at Library B that I mentioned a few weeks ago? It's today and will last a solid 8ish hours when it's all said and done. Cross your fingers for me!

Waiver wire articles:
Other good stuff:
  • Always enjoy Rotoworld's Beyond the Box Score - a look at 5 interesting games from Sunday.
  • Another link that I always scope out is SI's Fantasy Clicks - great review of the weekend's games and chock full of interesting details.
  • FantasySharks.com's On the Rise, On the Fall - Week 11 has a nice preview of players whose value is heading up or down for this weekend's matchups. Love that some tiny voice in my head suggested I hang onto Forsett after drafting him as a flier...
  • Best part about MJD's apology to the fantasy community? That he was playing himself in his own fantasy league. Love it.
  • ESPN's Week 11 projections are already up and available. Remember, there's another Thursday game this week.

Good luck in your interview!

Hey, this new job, it's not going to interfere with the blog, right? ;-)

I have been a daily follower of yours for only 9 weeks....but I find myself thinking about you and your interview. Hope it is going very very well. Your personality will no doubt shine through all day!

Good luck! Also for my fellow readers a new update with Dwayne Bowe. He's suspended for 4 games. Chambers and Lance Long are in for some increased targets. Long has been targeted over 20 times the past 3 weeks as a #3 receiver.

Hi. I am the interviewer at Library B. We appreciate the time you spent today demonstrating your skills on the microfiche, and your considerable dewey decimel comprehension. However, your constant checking of "stats" on your cell phone when you should have been Shhhhh-ing people will present a problem here at Library B. Therefore we regret to inform you that you are not hired. Furthermore, we respectfully ask that you cease and desist in using the title Librarian in your blog until you are gainfully employed by an accredited literary institution. We suggest that you go with FantasyNewYorkCityStreetWalkingAroundDrinkingCoffeeeLookingAtPeoplePerson.com (we checked and the domain is available. You can thank us later)
Sincerely,
Librarian A at Library B

Brian - I'm not sure Lance Long is someone I'd add at this point. Chambers is a little intriguing.

Here are some guys I'd consider before going down the Lance Long route:

Mike Wallace, Pittsburgh Steelers
Kevin Walter, Houston Texans
Patrick Crayton, Dallas Cowboys
Laveranues Coles, Cincinnati Bengals
Pierre Garcon, Indianapolis Colts
Donnie Avery, St. Louis Rams

Last Anonymous - Wait until after the Librarian gets the job before you make jokes.

I'm not a Bowe owner (was last year) and I probably don't need a WR right now, but I'm curious to see how things play out in KC. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lance Long's value increase to the point of being worth an add (those are some nice target numbers in recent weeks).

That said, it depends on the size of your league, of course. All the guys Lester named are already taken in my 14 team league.

14 team league is a different animal, and in that case Long could be a viable option. The only thing that worries me is that his numbers are skewed by a strong Week 9 showing. The other two weeks he had four catches for 30 yards.

St. Louis' Brandon Gibson is an option if he's available.

Back on the fantasy wagon

With my library conferences behind me (for a few weeks at least), I can now concentrate on fantasy football again. If you happen to be a librarian and are interested in how my co-presenter and I tied together fantasy football and information literacy, check out my co-presenter’s blog . Though I imagine most of you would much rather catch up on the following football news and thoughts for the week: I remain a bit dazed and confused by my certainty last summer that Cedric Benson was going to rock my RB2 world in 2007. Didn’t happen and now he’s moved onto ankle surgery, alleged intoxication and resisting arrest on boats. Awesome. You can practically taste Matt Forte’s value skyrocketing here. In fact, wondering about rookie RBs in general? Well then check out FF Xtreme’s The Day After: Ranking the Rookie Running Backs . I love reading articles or stats that challenge my preconceived notions – The Fifth Down’s Chad the Completion Percentage Machine does just that. No offense to thos

Streaming Defenses - Week 16

Don't know about you all, but in our house this week is just chock full of events, visiting with family, and getting organized for our upcoming time off over the holidays. Lots of scrambling going on around here and attempts to install some sense of gratitude in my boys. What am I grateful for this season? Many things but let's start with Bob. Bob has been my fantasy football rock, coming back week after week to post. Hats off to you, Bob, and thank you for your diligent work and research. So here he is with this year's final streaming defense post.  Well it’s the last week of the Fantasy Football Playoffs in most leagues, and my last post of the season. I hope you all found these posts useful. And if I failed you, you have to murder a lot more experts before you get to me. I myself have had a terrible playoff season. I’m out of all but one of my leagues due to the weird games the last two weeks. Between weather that didn’t materialize to normally consistent players co

Start/Sit Week 4 and a smattering of rankings

It's been awhile, my fantasy football friends. I have lofty intentions of getting several posts up here each week, but life is busy and I will do my best. So in the intervening 6 years since I've posted regularly on here, our family added another child (now there are 3!), moved back to Boulder for a sabbatical year and then returned to Knoxville, and we have basically been chugging along like many of the rest of you. My two boys (who turn 12 and 9 soon) are in a fantasy football league for the first time this year with their buddies, which ostensibly is the just the dads (and mom!) playing one another of course. But my oldest is taking it super seriously and what kind of Fantasy Football Librarian would I be if I didn't step up my game for him? So I'm back - and am interested in the fantasy landscape - lots of the same awesome sites out there, but many new ones as well. I'll try to incorporate a mix. Please be sure to let me know if my 2006 ways aren't working i
