Week 2 Consensus Start/Sit

Well better late than never! I got back from a fantastic trip to Colorado late last night and am trying to catch up on start/sit questions in my inbox - and of course the weekly consensus start & sit.  I went 5-4 in my 9 leagues last week so I'm also off to tweak my lineups a bit and aim for a 9-0 week. Now wouldn't that be something?!

Just a reminder that the consensus list I'm posting below is based on all of the start/sit links that I post during the week - I note the players that have the most start or sit votes from all of those websites in no particular order:

QB
Start: Matt Hasselbeck, Jason Campbell, Joe Flacco, Trent Edwards, Brett Favre
Sit: Jay Cutler, Chad Pennington, Mark Sanchez, Carson Palmer, Matt Schaub

RB
Start: Brandon Jacobs, Darren McFadden, Fred Jackson, Chris Johnson, Clinton Portis
Sit: Matt Forte, Cedric Benson, Kevin Smith, LaDainian Tomlinson, Joseph Addai, Steven Jackson

WR - update: Forgot to update these from Week 1 at first! My apologies for those who saw these before the update...blame it on the jet lag. :)
Start: Percy Harvin, Santana Moss, Terrell Owens, Santonio Holmes
Sit: Antonio Bryant, Devin Hester, Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery

TE
Start: Zach Miller, Chris Cooley, Todd Heap
Sit: Jeremy Shockey, Ben Watson

Kicker
Oddly, for the first time in the past 2-3 years that I've been doing the consensus start sit, there's absolutely no agreement on which kickers to start or sit. So you're on your own, buckos.

D/ST
Start: Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers
Sit: Again, no consensus on defenses that you should sit.

Enjoy today's games and I'll be back tomorrow with some early waiver wire advice and Sunday recaps!

HUH??

Other than Mason, the rest are obvious sits.

And by the way, Gonzalez is OUT!

Ocho isn't an abvious sit.

I'm benching Schaub and starting Campbell per your recommendation... I hope that ends up being smart!

Jet lag not helping the consensus picks....
Ooops! You guys pointed out that I forgot to update this week's WR picks...hang on on that front.

But keep in mind, these aren't MY picks. These are consensus picks.

The consensus picks missed on Schaub/Campbell. I sat Schaub and he threw 4 TDs. Campbell threw zero.

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff. Check out the info on the FSTA site for more details and be sure to e-mail me your submissions. Now, onto Week 1! First up, let's get to some of this

2010 Week 2 consensus start/sit

Greetings and happy weekend. I've got this week's consensus start/sit for you which is a tally of all the start/sit votes that players received in the various start/sit articles that I linked to earlier in the week. So while these aren't my personal recommendations, I do think knowing what the consensus is could be of help when making lineup decisions...so enjoy! A hiatus

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. This has been an almost surreal and definitely heartbreaking experience and I appreciate the support in each and every one of your notes. Caroline will be honored and loved always. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your thoughts and prayers - they mean the world to our family. I have been a very poor blogger this month and feel I owe you all an explanation, particularly as this is crunch time for draft prep. I hope this is not too personal of a look into my life since I know most of you are just here for the football. I am nearly 18 weeks pregnant and we have learned that our baby (a little girl!) has triploidy, a chromosomal abnormality that means she has three copies of every chromosome instead of the normal two. The doctors have explained that it's a completely random occurrence and fairly rare that she has made it this far along, but tha
